I read a lot of fiction by Karin Slaughter, Harlan Coben and Ian Rankin and from the point of realistic storyline and venue of the crime scenes (as I live in Sacriston between Durham and Newcastle) this first book was a real page turner.

I have taken it up at every opportunity and read it in all sorts of places (including hospital waiting rooms and car parks) crack on and let's have the next in the series ASAP. If possible let me know when the sequel or next one is available.

  I couldn't put it down.

Great characters, good structure, it made me gasp, it made me smile and at times it made me sad. Oh and it was fun that it was set somewhere I know.

I started reading the book on the train on my way home and finished it at about 1 in the morning so you can see I found it a gripping read. A very clever and well-constructed plot, particularly the way you brought the consequences of deeds in the distant past into revenge in the present. It deserves to be a great success.

A must read. The storyline piques your curiosity and interest from the start and makes you want to read on to find out more. Introducing a diverse range of characters and sub stories the plot comes full circle and knits together perfectly in a story which keeps you guessing until the end. Definitely looking forward to the sequel.
